I know there are several threads on this topic, but they're old and they didn't specifically answer this question: Passports Canada says that a passport sized photo is 2.75" x 2". So I took a photo and printed it out to those dimensions on photo paper. But it doesn't fit in the box on my new student form! Is the box the wrong size? Or is there a smaller size of passport photos that I'm not aware of...seeing as I don't actually have a passport to compare to...?

The box is too small, the picture you have will be fine.

I wondered the same thing last year but my student card turned out fine! You have the right size picture, don't worry!

As others said, as long as the size of your photo is correct, you're okay. The box isn't a measure of the size of the photo, just a place for you to place it. And either way, they adjust the size of the photo to fit on your student card

Last year I put the picture sideways and it fit perfectly in the box.
Student card came out alright. Shouldn't really matter.
