Pay Your Tuition With Interac!

Pay Your Tuition With Interac!

Via the Daily News,

The Student Accounts and Cashiers office is proud to now add Interac Online as a new Method of Payment.
The result of a joint effort between Student Accounts and Cashiers, the Registrar and University Technology Services, Interac Online gives the student the ability to pay online directly through McMaster's Payment Agreement, MUGSI or the Account Statement and the payment will show right away.

After a soft launch of this service two weeks ago, the Student Accounts and Cashiers office is happy to report over 300 students who have already chosen to make account payments this way.

"We are absolutely thrilled that the students are finding it helpful to pay this way," said Theresa Cooke, manager of the Student Accounts and Cashiers office.

Not only can students pay their accounts instantly from the McMaster site at the time of registration, they can also pay non-tuition charges toward their student account at any time of year.

The feedback from students has been very positive. Students who are anxious for marks or transcripts or to get on SOLAR to register no longer have to physically go to make a payment or wait the 3-5 business days for online/telephone payments to reach their student accounts. This is a huge improvement to the quality of service for students.

Hey,
You can refer to this link which has a list of banks where the online Interac system works. You can transfer your money from any of these to Mcmaster.

So this is basically where you have an online account with your bank say CIBC for example, and you have McMaster University as an option in the pay bills section? Hrrm, I think I've done that before... but it wasn't for tuition, it was just for a couple of my textbooks that I 'purchased' on my student card.

I think Interac online is a new payment method mcmaster is using. The one you are referring to is probably the previous online banking method, where the transfer used to be much slower than interac. And also for some reason, CIBC is not a participationg Interac online financial institution

Whoa! CIBC, the monopoly on McMaster is not participating?! I never would have thought that would be the case. Very interesting.

Yea I was surprised at that too. But Mcmaster is just one of 350 Interac online merchants, so CIBC being Mcmaster's monopoly doesn't really affect the fact that it is not being a participating institution at interac online.

There was always the option of paying online through your bank account -- even CIBC. Search for McMaster unversity and then add the account (your student number). It's the same thing.

Yeah, but it's not the same as interac.
