Philosophy question!
I'm an entering business student looking to take an elective in philosophy. I am interested in both 1A03 (Classical texts) and 1B03 (Law and Society) but am looking to choose only one! Wondering if anyone had some advantages and disadvantages, tips or whatever to help me make the right choice! thanks.

Philosophy 1A03 is the course that made me want to major in Philosophy so it's a REALLY good course. I'm currently taking 1B03 so maybe in a month or so I can tell you which you should choose. But of the first year courses those two and possible problems of Philosophy seem to be the best.

1A03 was good if you like old Philosophy. Click on the link to read the review
1B03 was good for the actual readings. I enjoyed those the most, the prof was horrible in my year. Again, click on the link for the review

Has anyone taken 1E03. I thought the description sounded pretty interesting:
PHILOS 1E03 PROBLEMS OF PHILOSOPHY
A critical investigation of philosophical arguments concerning such topics as God, politics, morality, human nature, knowledge, and art.
Two lectures, one tutorial; one term
Hearing about someone's experience with it would help though.

Yes I took it and it was very interesting. See the review here
Dr. Garret taught this when I took it and he was a good prof for the couse. A littler stern, but still good. It was a night course then so he spent one hour arguing for a theory and the second half arguing against it. There is a lot of discussion on God and creationism vs. evolution. You'll look at old philosophy as well as new. You'll be asked to question your morals and how they stack up someone elses and whether or not it's fair to decide who is 'right' or not. It's a really good class if you like a debate however Garret himself often liked to cut off students if they were saying something that had already been presented or was very... illogical. I guess he was kind of harsh in that sense.

Two of them are in 2nd Term.
Only one was offered this term.
And it was the one I felt most inclined to: Problems with Philosophy.
