It honestly depends on your needs. Shop around and if you like what a certain company has to offer, go with them. Just don't go to TELUS. You'll never have reception at Mac... And no I'm not a hater, I'm with TELUS.

Really? I was about to come in and say that the reception at Mac with Telus is great.

I've never had trouble getting a signal, even in the basement lecture halls, but I have an old BlackBerry Pearl Flip, I guess it's got pretty good reception.

Reception depends, even within a particular carrier.

I had a few people tell me that reception with Fido sucks at Mac (before I was a student) but I've yet to have a problem in any of the places I've had class or walked around.

I'm with wind. Pretty awesome so far, and plans are cheap. Perfect for a student. Also makes visiting home a lot easier.

True, it also depends on the phone itself.

I'm also looking for a new carrier. I know about the Super Smart Plan on Wind and would take that plan in a heartbeat but unfortunately my phone doesn't support AWS 1700Mhz. So, any alternatives?

Does Wind have good reception at Mac, I know there are some spotty areas with any company but those you have wind and have gone to Mac what are your experiences?

I'm with WIND but haven't been at campus yet with it. Go to http://coveragemapper.com/map.php?mccmnc=302490 and you can see coverage recorded by random volunteers.

Wind coverage used to be non-existent a little over a year ago but before I got to school they must have added a tower because I get great reception everywhere on campus. If you live in the GTA definitely go wind and save roaming fees
