You really should take 1L03 if you have been away from physics for that long.

I took 1L03 because I didn't take physics in high school. If you are a bit rusty or uncertain about physics I would recommend 1L03. I've heard that 1L03 gives you a good knowledge base if you were wanting to take 1B03 down the road, but it all depends on the person and their level of ability in physics.

The tests for 1B03 are rather difficult. In first year (life sci), it was my hardest course. The midterms were all multiple choice with 1 question = 1% of final grade, so mistakes were costly. I would get started with 1L03. I had taken Grade 12 Physics in second semester of my last year of high school and I still regret not taking 1L03.

i strongly suggest you only take 1B03 if you need the lab component for a program you want to apply for in the future like med school. otherwise stick with 1L03 because 1B03 is murderous unless you are good in physics
