Picking up OSAP
OSAP comes out on sept 4th, what time can we go pick it up?
Can i just go get it myself or do my parents have to be there too? And if they do, they will be at work so can you just go to Gilmour Hall (i think thats where it is anyways) during the day at any point and negotiate it?

There have already been a number of posts about this, but just so you don't have to go looking for them...
You can get it yourself. You just go line up at the 3rd floor of the Student Centre.
Quoted from MUGSI:
"Pick up your fall OSAP in person between September 2nd and September 12th in MUSC-314/315, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You must bring your valid McMaster student id card, proof of social insurance number (e.g. sin card or photocopy), valid government photo id (e.g. Ontario photo health card, driver's licence, Canadian passport, BYID card, citizenship card, permanent resident card, etc) and a void cheque/banking information with you to pick up your funding."

The long weekend? No. They will definately be closed. The following weekend I would say no as well, and I'm 99.5% positive in that.

Why would the university pay their staff overtime? lol.
And yes, with age comes...the answers. As does working at Compass.

Hi - I was just wondering what's the "Millenium / Ontario Access Grant"? Is that part of OSAP too? (I'm getting it from OSAP, I think) But the term "grant" confuses me, does that mean I don't have to pay it back? Most of my OSAP comees from "Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loan" though so..
Also, I know that we can pick up OSAP starting from September 2nd, but I just checked my OSAP online on the OSAP site, and it said the negotiable date for me is on Sept 4th. And that the loan installment cannot be released before that date.. So does that mean I can't pick up my loan on the 2nd, but only on the 4th?
Thank you so much.

Is my bankbook sufficient for the bolded/underlined statement? Because I don't have a cheque book...

Quester - you can request your Direct Deposit Info from the bank, and that would suffice.

Does the cheque have to be from the bank account I'm using to pay or can I use one of my parents'? I don't have cheques...

Yep! Then the leftover OSAP money (if any) will just be deposited into your mom or dad's bank account.
