Podcasts available in Econ 1BB3?
hey guys, just wondering if prof O'Shaughnessy in Econ 1BB3 posts podcasts like Holmes does in 1B03? Do I HAVE to go to lecture in that course (i have it next semester)?

Here's the course outline for this term, fall 2010. http://www.economics.mcmaste r.ca/d... nessy2010.pdf
Yes, there are podcasts and I remember my friends had them last year as well. Like with any class, I would suggest going anyway, just because it's so much easier listening to a live lecture than a podcast. By this I mean that going to lectures will ensure that you stay on top of the materials and not leave all the lectures and taking notes till a few days before the test or exam. Then again, I'm not sure how this course is run, as it might be one of those classes where you really don't have to show up to class. So hopefully someone can give you a little more insight about that?

Econ 1BB3 is essentially building up on 1B03. So 1B03 is on the small scale, i.e. "micro" and macro is just on a larger scale of looking at things. I know that the first 4 chapters in Econ 1BB3 is based on things covered in 1B03, and I believe that's all on Test 1, if I remember correctly. I don't think it's necessarily harder, but it definitely requires more work than 1B03. I've heard good reviews about both Holmes and O'Shaughnessy.

Posted a bajillion times already but w.e

Podcasts for ECON 1BB3: http://socserv.mcmaster.ca/oshaubr/econC01.html

There no incentive in attending lectures with this stuff up. It has everything you need for midterm/exam/assignments. Also I found 1bb3 VERY easy. I can't imagine anything easier for a univeresity course but apparently 1b03 is so...

If you're looking for a 12, I would recommend going to class and taking your own notes there because it forces you to do a little bit per week rather than letting the lectures pile up. I found it a lot easier to just use the podcasts as a reference for things I need to freshen up on before a midterm or the final.
