i personally agree with Ownaginatios...it reduces the value of your laptop and you can't think of using it if you have a macbook!! its best to take care of you laptop and never leave it unattended!!

Not everyone would believe that it reduces its value.. I think most people would actually believe it would increase its value. Yes, sure it might ruin the outside cover.. well not ruin.. just change? I guess. But again.. it's better to have it on than seeing your laptop walk away.. and never seeing it again!

I agree, I would never attach anything to my laptop. If you take care of your laptop then you should never encounter this problem.

I agree that you have to take care in the first place.. but, forgetting that point, I'd rather have the plate on my laptop, then no laptop at all... And sometimes things happen.. so you can never be too sure about the safety of your laptop....

goelk- if you read the entire article, it states that once you get the lock it registers your name under that specific lock. SO basically using that number, you can find that that lock.. attched to the laptop.. belongs to you. So it can work to protect theft from your room too.. ANd that's avoidable too.. There's all kinda of security cables and locks and such.

I would focus more on finding the laptop first though And then security cables/locks come later
