Man, that pissed me off when I put up my poster for that class, and saw that the one next to mine had a motorized spinning solar system model with light-up planets and everything.
They never really indicated that they wanted you to do an amazing job, lol.

Whos talking about MacInsiders.
Make a new forum board for Humanities, Science, etc. Clearly the Mac Eng board is working well.

I'm not sure you can say that it's working well if I've seen it before, or even ever heard of it. And I don't live under a rock.
I'd say Microeconomics 1b03 is a bird course, and because of the people who take it, it probably will be for awhile. It's the most basic econ you can take, no prior knowledge assumed, and it's got a bajillion first years in it.

the prof for natural disasters just closed down the discussion board and I think its a little unfair of her. Is there anything that can be done?

She has every right too!
Did you not see how much criticism she was getting? People were making fun of her. Give her a break its her first year teaching. Sure the test was unfair but there is no need to go and make fun of someone about it. I admit natural disasters was a disaster but people are just making it worse by poking fun at the professor. Also your not supposed to talk about the final exam, people still have to write it (CSD students) at later time, you guys basically gave them ~20 answers.

To me its the worst thing to see students attacking the professor on a personal level, its so sad to see that from university students.

It's pretty pathetic really. People need to start taking responsibility for their own actions, rather than blaming their failings on "unfair exams" and the like. It's amazing how the perceived locus of control can shift drastically depending on whether you did really well, or really poorly.

I also wanted to add that everyone makes mistakes. The Exam for the course wasn't perfect. If you do have concerns wait for your mark, and then go see her which is what I plan on doing. Bring your proof and explain why you deserve marks and discuses the questions that were unfair. Making fun of others especially the Professor is really uncalled for.

just wondering...don't prof usually want the class average to be between 60-70 (maybe a little higher?) so dont they usually make the subsequent midterms/exams easier or harder depending on the avg of the previous test?
so i guess it would make sense for a final to be a little harder if the midterms were relatively easy...i think the only way to really judge whether an exam was unfair would be to look at if anyone was able to achieve 90+ which would then indicate that the exam is doable...
