I plan to major in honours biology and i know that psych isnt a mandatory course for that but under the life science 1 list it says i need 9 units from either bio 1a03, 1M03, Physch 1X03 or 1XX3. But iv heard that i dont need to take psych so now idk:S im not really looking forward to taking psychology so id rather not have to

Where did you hear that you don't need to take Psych :S? If it says 9 units out of all those, then you need to take Psych 1X03, unfortunately.

Edit: Ignore my above comment. I realized you're looking at Honours Life Sci, you would only take Psych if you wanted to major in Life Sci second year. The requirements for Hon. Bio is:

Admission

Enrolment in this program is limited and possession of the published minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Selection is based on academic achievement but requires, as a minimum, completion of any Level I program with a Cumulative Average of at least 6.0 including:

6 units BIOLOGY 1A03, 1M03 with an average of at least 6.0
6 units CHEM 1A03, 1AA3
3 units from MATH 1A03, 1LS3
3 units from PHYSICS 1B03, 1L03 (See Admission Note above.)
6 units from Life Sciences I Course List

as long as you dont want to go into any second year programs that require psych (life sci, psych) then its not needed. you just need to have prereqs for the second year programs you apply to.

It is generally a good idea to take the first year pyschs tho. A lot of upper year science students take tons of pysch as electives, almost all of which require first year pysch. However, if you're sure you want absolutely no pysch, you can steer clear of it later. Both level 1 pyschs are needed for first year life sci tho.

^both arent needed. only first one you 'need' and tbh you dont even need it unless you wanna do psych in future. if you go into life sci first year and dont take psych you would still get into programs for 2nd year if you have the average and if psych isnt needed.

Sims says thanks to Silver for this post.
