I think I already answered your question about the co-op in a previous thread, but anyways I will answer it again. No, it doesn't make a difference. All the people who want to complete co-op have to first be enrolled in the course Eng 1EE0. If you do not complete this course you can't apply for co-op therefore you do not get any extra privileges by choosing co-op or non co-op when applying through OUAC. Basically you still have to go through the same process as everyone else who is accepted as a non-co-op Engineering I.
For Tuition you are looking to be paying between $7500 - $8500 or at least that is what I payed 2 years ago. As you reach upper years you will be paying more like $8500-$9000.
Books are overpriced. Make friends with upper years so that they can tell you which books are worth buying and which are not. I can assure you from now that you won't use all the books that they tell you to buy so don't go on a shopping spree on your first week in university buying all your books because you will be spending close to $1000 on books if you do that. Buying the newest version doesn't matter either because lets face it, has the math or physics changed much in the past 500 years ? If you follow these instructions about books you can get away with paying $300-$500 on books.
1. NEVER BUY FROM THE MCMASTER BOOK STORE.
2. ALWAYS BUY YOUR BOOKS SECOND HAND IN GOOD CONDITION.
3. IF YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH AN OLDER EDITION DO IT.
4. NEVER BUY THE SOFTWARE THEY ASK YOU TO BUY. YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND OTHER SOURCES TO GET IT FROM.
If you follow these 4 commandments when buying books you will save tonnes of money which you can spend on beer. Thats right, you heard me. BEER !!! I can assure you, you will need it.
