Question regarding deferring physics 1b03 exam
Alright, so I've been down with a fever and a really sore throat since Thursday and I'm finding it impossible to be able to focus properly. I'm going to wait until next Wednesday but I decided that if I'm not feeling better, it would be a better decision for me to defer the physics exam since I haven't done so great on the midterms either and I don't want to jeopardize my mark because of being sick. Now I was just wondering if this would affect my chances of getting into any second year programs? I've done well enough in all my other courses and I'll probably have a 10+ average (excluding physics) by the end of this exam period. I was just wondering if they'd include a 0 for my physics mark and if that would jeopardize my changes of getting into my desired second year programs

as long as you have a legit reason, and a doctors note to defer the exam and then you DO end up writing the exam.. i don't see any reason as to why it would affect your chances of getting into second year programs. it wouldn't necessarily be a 0 on your final, just a deferred mark. and i'm sure if you had trouble getting into a specific program because of that, you could talk to them i'm pretty sure. they won't penalize you for being sick...shouldn't atleast.

Study. Talk to the professor at the first chance you get to garuntee you can deferr.
If your physics marks is decent before the exam, and you deferr, it shouldn't effect your program eligibility, since you neither failed, nor (hopefully) did poorly overall in the course.
tldr: email prof right now, ambush him/her at their office hours tomorow

You will not be able to get into a second year program if physics is a requirement. If your deferral request is denied, you might get an F and have to repeat it in the summer or next year and have to shadow your desired major. Also a 0 will really hurt your average.
As for deferral....I don't think a cold/fever is accepted as a valid reason :S it has to be more serious than that.
