Not sure if someone has already asked this, but how easy it is to get a good CA in second year? In terms of course load, do you think it is a good idea to take both Orgos as my electives?
Regular advice: It really depends on your skills, determination and work ethic in determining CA, take courses you're interested in, and you will succeed!

Personal advice: Don't take both Orgos, strictly from a workload perspective (and not difficulty), I don't think it is the best option. Once HTH SCI 2D06 picks up (semester 2), you'll also have to contend with 2K03 (kinda chill, but heavy workload) and 2FF3 (not so chill) in the same semester. Personally, with all the time I was giving these three courses, I barely had time for my remaining two courses, and orgo can't be neglected. It might be worthwhile just to take Orgo 1 if you'd like (it could help you in your other courses), but I also kinda think that one performs the best on both orgos when he/she takes them together. As for the CA, nearly every class in HTH SCI awards "effort", sometimes even more than "knowledge". It should be fairly easy to get a great GPA if you give it a 100% (easier said than done). My intention is not to scare, it's really not that bad, but I think you'll probably do the best if you prepare for the worst.

Is it possible to transfer into biomed spec in 3rd year? Or is it only available as an option for 2nd years?

I'm almost certain it's only for those going into 2nd year, because there are courses with limited enrolment that you can't take to shadow the specialization.

I have heard of students entering Global Health after second-year though.

BHSc is getting rid of the option that allowed students to enter Global Health after second-year. So essentially you either specialize when entering second-year or you don't specialize at all. And this applies to all specializations.

I was looking at the course timetable and I saw that 2J03 has 1 core, but it is twice in one day (Thursdays from 11:30-12:30 and again from 14:30 to 15:20). Do we have to attend both these time slots because the 11:30-12:30 part overlaps with my physics elective I want to take and this is the only time that physics is offered. Or does anybody have any suggestions as to what I could do?

Unfortunately you'll need to attend both times. 2J03 is broken into 3 types of class: Lectures, Experimental Tutorials, and Theoretical Application Tutorials. You'll need to be there for all 3 classes each week because attendance is mandatory.

Ya last year IIRC it conflicted with a popular PSYCH elective. :/

Did you use any textbooks for 2F03/2FF3 or 2K03?

For 2F03/2FF3 there is a textbook, but many people found that studying the slides was sufficient to do well in the course. I started using the textbook in first semester, but I found it to be less and less useful as the year went on.

No textbook for 2K03.
