I use a program (iCal) to write down deadlines and stuff, I don't use a planner, its just very hard to carry around and my handwriting won't look nice all the time and if you lose it you are literally in a bad situation.

CASIO FX-911MS Calculator!!! Thats all you need. Everything else is redundant.
This is the official mcmaster calculator, and all other calculators are inferior <---- Note: the first part is fact, the second part is opinion

Might be a good idea to invest in a voice recorder so you can record lectures and revisit them later when studying.
I don't have one myself yet...so I need to do this too...
How good is the voice memo feature on iPhones? Anyone reguarly use it to record lectures? Might be a hit on the battery though.
Advice from experience plz.

I hope you noticed that I hit thanks lolo (i.e. we still see it).
I think you have to post a certain # of times before you can thank. Not sure tho. Strange if you saw it before and now it disappeared.

Ever since I created an account, I could thank people, but now I'm not seeing the thanks button. I can see if the post has been thanked and by who, I just can't say thanks using the button. That's why I've been just liking posts now.
Oh well, thanks to everyone who's posted so far and hasn't been thanked by me.

This is true, that's why I record everything on a large calendar in my room as well as in my planner.

That's a good point! Titles sells huge 4-month wall calendars (if you flip it over, it has one big month on the back). I bought one in first year and I used it every single term.

That, and there's also the one that the MSU gives out in the Student centre during welcome week (free btw!).

Necessities:
-Mechanical pencil
-Pen
-Correction tape
-Laptop
-Lined paper
-Folders
Other:
-Laser printer
-Calculator
-Mouse
-Stapler
-Hole punch
P.S. I think preferences vary a little depending on the program. If I had a lot of math courses, I'd probably leave my laptop at home and just carry papers and a pen around. I'm in Socsci though. Nearly all my classes have been Powerpoints/PDFs so far.

You don't need a MacPass to get the MSU package! Upper years can get it as well. But I didn't know they take them to the Underground after welcome week! I thought I missed out last year because they were gone :(.
