It's just a safety course. The labs they are referring to are chem, bio and other labs like those.

when I registered my courses on SOLAR I chose Eng 1A00 in term 2 .... but I have CHEM 1E03 in first term... so I'll be attending labs without taking 1A00 .... is that ok or what?

Hmm, it doesn't say you need it, but you have a lab :S.

An introduction to chemical principles for Engineering students, including reactivity, bonding, structure, energetics and electrochemistry.
Three lectures, one tutorial (one hour), one lab (three hours) every other week; one term
Prerequisite(s): Registration in a program in Engineering
Antirequisite(s): CHEM 1A03
Not open to students with credit or registration in ISCI 1A24.

You can always go to SOLAR and sign up for it first term and get it over with

Well, you can probably switch it on SOLAR right now... but if you don't have any prerequisite problems then it should be fine.

Shoot :S. Then I suggest changing it to first term, so that you get it out of the way now, and you'll have nothing to worry about, come Term 2.

That's true, you might as well do it now since you probably aren't doing anything at the moment. It doesn't take long at all.

Agreed! And then you don't have to think about it ever again!
