Second Year Courses in First Year?
I was just wondering if it is possible to take second year courses in first year. Specifically in the areas of economics and geography, could you complete the prerequisite first term and then take the 2nd year course 2nd term?

I took a 2nd year course in 1st year, however it was a course that did not have any prereqs. You should check with an academic advisor in your department to see if you can take a 2nd year course if you have completed the prereqs 1st term because it is up to the department and they will have to give you special permission. They will have to waive the prereqs when you sign up for the course on SOLAR. Check with them!

Also, it will have to be a course that does not require you to be in a 2nd year program. Some courses are open to anyone, while others require that you have been accepted into the 2nd year program.

Yes, there are some relig studies courses I know which do not have pre-reqs.
If you think you already meet the pre-reqs, you can sometimes do a placement test...

As Lizzie and B have said, it's all about the pre-reqs. If there are no requirements listed where you HAVE to have graduated from a level 1 course, then you're fine taking the course in first year!

You also have to remember that in order to apply and be accepted into your second year program, you must have completed 30 level 1 units.

So if you meet the pre-reqs and are willing to overload, I don't see how it wouldn't be possible.
