selecting courses
so i read somewhere on here that when you first get to select courses on SOLAR, you don't get to pick which core/lab/tutorial time you want.. you just pick the course. is this true? when do we get to pick the times we want for the core/lab/tutorials?

Im pretty sure you're supposed to pick your lab sections and tutorials on solar.

You do it all. Pick your course, core, tutorial, and lab. Thats why the master timetable was released.

Mostly all courses won't allow you to pick your sections, this is because it's easier for the registrar to section people in order to minimize conflicts. Then when SOLAR reopens you can switch your sections around provided there is space.

The first time you pick your courses you don't pick your sections (except for a handful of courses, but not usually first year courses).
When SOLAR reopens in August, you can change your sections around.

I agree with jhan523. On your course selection date, you only pick the course and then you can rearrange your schedule once your timetable is released in August.

Oh, I would also like to add that you can also pick which term you want the course to be in, provided that there is a choice to begin with of course.
