Should I email again?
So i emailed a previous employer to see if he will be one of my references for a job that i am applying to and he did not respond. I emailed him on Thursday...should I email him again?? I know that he gets tons of emails a day....and i asked my former co-workers and they said that he's not on vacation so he must have read my email....any suggestions?

Call? That's usually more effective than an email...

Hm. Try sending it using McMaster's email system and requesting a "read reciept" or whatever that feature is called. This way it comes from a new email address and you will know whether he read it or not.

Thanks Farid for the tip!

I just tried sending an e-mail to my other account from my Mac e-mail and I checked "notify when read".

When I opened the e-mail from my other account and logged out and went back to my Mac account, I did not receive a notification e-mail that the message had been read...and I waited for a few min and kept logging in/out and refreshing.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Definitely try to call, it's impossible to ignore a call. Even if you're not much of a phone person, it'll be good practice.

Stop limiting yourself that way. I wouldn't give a reference to somebody who couldn't even be bothered to call and speak to me in person...
