Single or Double?
Obviously they both have their pro's and con's, but which did you have? Did you enjoy it? If given the opportunity would you go back and change being in a single or double?

I lived in a double room in Hedden Hall in first year. My experience might be different than the majority of people, seeing as I lived with my friend who I've known since kindergarten, so I definitely didn't have any serious roommate problems (a few comical mishaps perhaps :p). The space in the room I had was definitely reasonable, and it's nice to not be necessarily alone all the time (and this is coming from an introvert!). For what you save price-wise, I'd say it's worth it. Most other people I knew had positive experiences with their roommates and *most* of the people I know became quite good friends with their assigned roommates and ended up living with them off campus in upper years.

I was in a triple first year and a double the second year. The triple was a bit crowded, but it was great nonetheless. I liked my roommates and we got along well so that definitely made up for the crowded room. Also, whenever I needed some time away, I would just head to the library or go visit a friend and such. I don't think I'm the most extroverted person, but I was just fine and made a lot of amazing friends, and first year was actually amazing in residence. Second year, however was much better because it was only 2 people and the room was much more spacious. But also, the fact that we were both upper years was good. I chose the double in second year because I heard a lot of my friends say how much they hated the single in first year. And it made sense, because you're always alone, especially if you have a bathroom as well. In that case, it's really up to you to go out there and meet people and socialize. That's why I recommend a double for first year, sure it all depends on your roommate and how compatible you are, but even those who didn't particularly get along with their roommates found ways around it. But anyway, if I were to go back, I would choose a double or triple for first year . Also, the price is a factor, not a big one but there definitely is a difference. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
