The focus for McMaster Smoke Free Day 2010 is all about giving quitting smoking/tobacco a GO – and friends and family supporting those who want to quit.
Come visit Leave the Pack Behind's booth (at the 'Choice is Yours' Health Fair) on Wednesday, March 3 to get freebies and advice on quitting. Check us out to also to find out more about how tobacco use affects your appearance, performance, and relationships! Our team will be taking pledges to be smoke-free, as well as conducting CO Monitor tests.
Being successful for one day may give an individual confidence in continuing the effort to remain smoke-free.
Because I know smoking is the #1 cause of preventable death in the United States.
Because I know that smoking kills more people every year than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, fires, drugs, murders, and suicides combined.
Because I know the Tobacco Industry spends over 6 billion dollars a year or $200 a second, on advertising to get me to start smoking.
Because I know 90% of smokers begin before18 years of age.
