So much for the new email system, eh? Seriously, the MSU either needs to stop delaying projects or needs to start giving students realistic time frames.
So what happened to that new MSU website that was supposed to be implemented after the winter break?
Oh and that email system? Yea, last time I checked I was still using MUSS...

One of the technical glitch is due to Gmail having an amazing anti-spam filter.
During testing, all Mosiac's emails was being rejected automatically. This is of course unacceptable since it was sent by an official email address ( [email protected]) .
Until this is rectify and Gmail accept unsolicited and poorly formatted emails, the new system will not be live.

Probably wouldn't be that much "learning" involved in the implementation of the new email system.. If it's anything like Google's other work, it would be so intuitive a monkey could use it. Especially in comparison to MUSS..
And you'd also think that there could simply be a general "rule" implemented for all accounts that *@mcmaster.ca is excluded from the junk-mail filter..

It's been mentioned several times that the project is no longer in the MSU's hands. They have already done their part in the creation of the new e-mail service. It is now in the hands of administration and Google in order to sort out everything else.

I want the new email system put in place ASAP. MUSS only gives you 50 emails over all your folders before it starts whining about "ACCOUNT IS OVER QUOTA". You know what MUSS? Maybe I wanted to keep some important emails and maybe I get a lot of mail, ever think of that, HUH? 50 emails is not enough! And if you are going to limit me to 50 emails before complaining, why is your default to display only 30 emails?! Y U NO DISPLAY 50?!

Learn to forward email to something better like Gmail?
You can send school official email from the comfort of your Gmail, with proper address @mcmaster.ca too.
http://www.macinsiders.com/showthrea...ive-23326.html
Best thing about this is that forwarding emails allow you to check all accounts using one login.

I really have no idea who is in charge of these techno-projects that the MSU has passed through, but they really need to be fired. I don't know if it's the MSU, the school, or an outsourced company, but they are terrible at their job.

True but the MSU website is and it's not some tightly integrated system where thousands of people depend upon it at a time. Having lots of experience in it I can say it doesn't take 6 months to make a website, no matter how amazing it is. And when a new website keeps getting used as a campaign slogan, it's a clear indication that it's been way to long.

I know how to forward email, and I have done so. Doesn't mean I can't complain about my gripes for the the existing e-fail system we have now.

Will you stop forwarding emails if the new system was in place?
Personally, I won't. Don't see why anyone would manually log in to a different email site instead of merely forwarding it to their primary account.

I probably would. The only reason why I forward everything is mainly because of the space issue.
