Well, there are quite a few differences!
The Mac Connector is basically a series of icebreakers, where you play various games with all the other first years. It takes place on one of the fields. Its pretty fun, and you get a really nice cross section of your fellow first years. But you most likely won't be making many friends, since you get so little face to face time with others, and there are so many people.
The SOCS Off Campus Connect is a bit more exclusive, since the only people in attendance will be those foxy SOCSies. You get appetizers, and talk to people, and eventually sing Karaoke. I believe it will be at TwelvEighty. Also a lot of fun, and you get to meet lots of great people.
For reference, I don't remember any of the people I did the Mac Connector with, I am now friends with tonnes of people that I met at the SOCS Off Campus Connect. But both are well worth your time!
And make sure to get up and do some Karaoke!
