For Solar, do we get to pick what term we take the course and what time we take them?
Also, to prepare for Solar is there anything we should have prepared other than our 10 courses for the year?

I'm pretty sure you pick the term and whether it's day or evening. Then, in August, they give you a timetable with assigned cores, labs, and tutorials, but you can change them afterwards when they open solar again.

Yep Ashley's right, there's a set few times for lectures/cores and you choose these out of a list of times there are, mostly 1 hour 2x or 3x a week but widely dependent on the course. Check out the list of times here: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /scheduling/coursett.html
