Solicitators on campus
Hey guys, just wanted to post a warning here.
There are some filipino (usually two women) who I spotted on campus today asking for donations. They were in front of JHE between classes and were holding small black files with a coloured pamphlet that they show to people (but don't give away) and collect change.
Do not give them any money. First of all, they're not allowed to do that on campus, second of all their "charitable" cause is extremely shady. They're frequently found hanging around jackson square and in limeridge mall's food court asking for donations and they never tell you any background information about the "charity" that they're collecting for or give you the actual paper that they're holding. It's essentially just a scam.
If you see them, tell them that you'll report them to the MSU because they're not allowed to be on campus doing that without permission. Next time I see them on campus I'll make sure to give security services a call myself.
Save your money for legitimate charitable causes.
