Starbucks moving into McMaster
According to The Silhouette, Starbucks will be replacing Williams Coffee on campus in the Student Centre.
Starbucks set up shop across the street from McMaster as part of the Shoppers Drug Mart on Main St. last year. They'll now have two locations within walking distance for students.

That really sucks for me...because I really got hooked onto William's Blended Ice Caps...guess I'll be walking outside of campus for them now.

There's a Williams in HSC (both in the library and lobby) is there not? Though that's almost 'off-campus' anyway...

I've never been there, but that is practically off-campus for me anyway like you said. Oh well.

I don't have a MacBook or flamboyant clothing, so i don't enter Starbucks. I don't feel like i belong.

I can't decide if I'm happy or annoyed. I normally just got Starbucks at the hospital caf or across the street. Great coffee at Starbucks but the William's had good food options including no-meat options :(

Never been a fan of Starbucks, they're overpriced and a waste of money in my opinion. I went to the Williams there once in a while for their steamed hot chocolate or a muffin and liked the fact that the line usually isn't a mile long. I'm annoyed that they're putting a Starbucks there because it means there will likely be way more traffic at that Student Centre entrance :/

No word yet on HSC. It was only the location in MUSC that became vacant from what we've gathered.

Both in HSC should be staying as far as I know. There haven't been any rumours there thus far.

I wonder if this has anything to do with being able to bring in more revenue due to meal cards. I.e. Students in residence committed to a meal plan might be less likely to indulge in expensive beverages off campus because it might not be covered by their meal plan, but if this location accepts MC, then it's a smart move (financially)
In terms of student center traffic, I think people are going to have the sense to lineup on the far side of the hallway opposite the doors. Even in rush hour, with 6 clubs set up in that location, I have never had a problem using the Student Center doors because of increased traffic, except maybe in Welcome Week
I think moving Starbucks to the basement of CNH would have been a much smarter move but I don't see this as causing major problems either

I usually buy Starbucks whenever I have money on my Starbucks card so I would spent time walking to Main St. just to get my dose. Putting Starbucks here would be great for me, less walking to do.
