Student Debt Protest??
As I was walking through campus today I noticed a protest going on outside the student centre....
They seemed to be protesting student debt? Can anyone fill me in on what this is about? (Yes, yes I should have just asked them as I walked by, but I was late for class, ok ?!).
Thanks in advance

They feel that existential angst as opposed to sutra is akin to mental masturbation and furthermore promotes a dangerous moral relativism in our society.

Form what I've heard it's a protest organized by the CFS (Canadian Federation for Students) so that's why it's at multiple universities

Ahhhh yes, the CFS. The same CFS that took engineering by the neck and said "drop dead, we don't care about you."
Maybe that's paraphrasing too much? You judge.

I don't know why I get so disgusted at these whiny protests. Demand for university is so damn high, taxes are so damn low, and yet the government STILL found a way to make post secondary education available to everyone. Whats 30000 dollars in 10 years? 3000 dollars a year. You'll earn WAY more then that annually with an undergrad degree. Or you could borrow 30000 dollars from the bank and try starting a business and see how that goes for you.

university of ottawa got a legit day off school where the protest was a legitimate reason to not hand in assignment, not go to class and be penalized, etc

Assuming you get a decent job after grad. THAT'S the REAL issue.

Well full time low-paying job can get rid of that debt pretty easily, so long as you don't live like an irresponsible jackass. :/
