summer school 2009
hey i was wondering where to go to see what classes are offered this summer? also, i heard that the marks you get in summer school don't count as your CA, so basically you are taking the class for the COMPLETED? if anyone could clear this up it would greatly be appreciated
thanks in advance

The schedule for summer classes for McMaster doesn't come out until mid-March according to the Registrar site. If you're looking into summer classes elsewhere, you'd have to check their respective sites.
If you take a summer course at Mac only, the marks you get will count as part of your CA, and you will have an actual number there (0-12). If you take the course elsewhere, I think it does show up on your transcript but it only shows up as COM (completed), as long as you get at least a certain mark (60% I think).
The whole thing about summer courses not counting towards your average probably refers to grad school applications. Some schools do not take your summer courses as part of your average. As this varies from school to school and program to program, you will have to look at the individual sites to know.

Yup, if you take a course outside of Mac you need a recieve at least a 60% in order to pass by Mac's standards. And yes, you get a "COM" on your transcript. Because there is no grade they don't count for your CA.
McMaster summer school courses however do count for your CA.

I think its two courses each term (6 units), so you could take 4 courses during the entire summer session.

Do you think I'd get OSAP if I dropped a course and took one in summer? Cause last term, I dropped a course I would've failed and am taking an extra in this term...and it'll be a big pain to have six courses in one term ><

It's twice a week, 3 hours of lecture at a time. So in a week you have 6 hours of lecture for a class.
