Taking Orgo II in Term 2 or summer?
Although no med schools in Ontario require a full year of orgo, I've decided to take both just in case. My question is should I take the second in the summer? I will also be taking music 1aa3 and English 1a03 so it shouldn't be too difficult or should I leave out stats second term and put orgo instead?

i m in the same boat as u...
see how u feel abt orgo when taking orgo 1...and if u think that u "like" it and are "interested" in it, then take the second one in term 2...otherwise leave it until the summer.

IMO, having a break between orgo 1 and orgo 2 isn't a good idea
And are you going into second year?

I agree.
I'm taking it now and it really is a continuation of 2AO3. I think it's a good idea to have all the reactions/mechanisms you learned in 2OA3 fresh in your head while doing 2OB3.

If it's the only course you are taking then you have 112 hours a week to learn orgo assuming you sleep 8 hours a day.
Edit: Also considering 1 week in summer is 2 weeks in fall, it means you gave 56hours to learn 1 normal week of material.

lol hmm, I sleep like 6 hours a day so that's alright haha. But I'm thinking of taking 3 courses total in the summer? 1 Psych course, maybe stats 2b03 and an organic chem course, still alright?

All in the same term? Taken 2 courses in 1 summer term is like taking 4 courses during the fall/winter term. I didn't find Stats to be very time consuming by the way.

Hmmm.. but it would seem like the fact that i would only have 2 other courses to deal with outweighs having to take it during the year with 4 other courses no?

Take both in the summer.
My biggest regret at Mac was taking orgo when a) I didn't need it as a prereq (took it to help me on the MCAT, which was pointless) and b) taking it during the school year.

Yeah that would be optimal hmm I guess I'll keep it and drop it if necessary and just take it during the summer
