The key issue is that they get their network swamped by the sheer number of people.
The whole IT department at mac needs to step it up a few notches. ie. The new macs at mac last year took something like 8 months to bring to a usable standard. (There are tricks to changing the screen resolution in windows [Resolution Changer SX2])

Anyways, mills has HUGELY improved over the past few years but still has a ways to go.
In the meantime, how about they get wireless in BSB properly.
Two summers ago they had a wireless N network set up working beautifully, they took it down at the end of the summer.

ABB likely runs on its own network where you connect. Mac portions its networks up quite a bit.

slow internet speed = losers who shouldn't be in university streaming movies and shows on campus

It happens every day. Earlier in the morning, mid-afternoon, and later in the evening are fine. Otherwise these dumb-asses are sitting there checking their facebook and streaming some dumb show/concert/sports game.

Sometimes I want to just walk over and pull the plug out of the back of the computer. If I die and turn into a ghost you can be damn sure I will do it until I get bored.

Dont jump to conclusions so quickly, ill try to stream 2 shows simply because i try to minimize bandwidth usage at home.

When I'm in ETB, it remains consistently usable the vast majority of the time.

Probably due to the fact that there's hardly anyone there most of the time.

Streaming? I see more people torrenting, personally.

I watch the occasional YouTube video on campus, but never stream/download big stuff. It's only fair to the other people on the network.

lol, even though you're not watching them at school, it still uses the bandwidth to download them onto your computer. Anyway, what internet service do you have? 20 GB is retardedly low by modern standards.

Oh ya, I've heard about that. I think it's more due to there being less people around than the internet infrastructure being better though :p.

I'll have to have a look at Teksaavy. Right now we're on Velcom. for Dry-DSL and a fixed ip we pay 43 a month. Oh yeah, there is no cap.
Download speed is a consistent half-meg. upload is usually only about 50k.

Still reasonable enough for me. Our house usually uses about 130GB a month, so bell was painful.

 TekSavvy is 41 dollars a month (exactly) on a dry-loop. There is a 200 GB cap and 5 Mb/s down, 800 Kb/s up.

So pretty much almost identical to your service :p. Most likely 'Velcom' also uses the Bell network.
