I understand that some continued courses use the same textbook so 2nd semester I have Chem 1AA3, Bio 1A03, Psych 1XX3, Physics 1L03 and Economics 1BB3

Please help me figure out which textbooks I need and which will be a waste of money! I hope this helps out other confused first years as well
We almost have the exact same courses (instead of Physics 1L03, ECON 1B03)

Are any of the following texts useful for BIO 1M03 and was any of the material in these texts ever tested on midterms/exams or helpful in understanding the material covered?

FREEMAN - STUDY GUIDE TO BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE
FREEMAN - BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE (VOL #2)(TEXTBOOK ONLY)

Which short guide to writing would you recommend? Just VOL #1 or both VOL #1 and 2? If you could, can you give a reason as well. Thanks a lot.

There is only 1 short guide to writing. The vol 1 and 2 are the actual textbooks for the Bio 1A03 and 1M03 courses. I already provided a reason which was that it helped me during lab write ups. It explains the format along with a lot of other things.

Ok thanks Usman. Do you think it would be enough to get Vol #2 or would you recommend both volumes?

Well you will have to buy both volumes since one of them is for Bio 1A03 and the other is for Bio 1M03. I personally bought the package which came with both volumes and the short guide to writing.

I didn't buy the study guide and did well. If anything you can a couple of friends can pitch in to buy it and share it but I really don't think it's necessary.
