Thesis with 3EP3/3EX6/3RP3?
Is it possible to do a thesis as well as science 3EP3/3EX6/3RP3 during the school year with the same supervisor? If not, what about different supervisors?

I think the whole point of 3RP3 is to introduce you to a research setting for an honours thesis. Umm..
You might need to check with the life sci advisor about this.

I'm almost certain you can't. I looked into doing one of those courses along with co-op with the same supervisor, but it was turned down because it would be "double dipping." So I assume doing the same with a thesis would be the same. However, doing the course with a different supervisor might be okay. Contact the SCCE office or the Associate Dean's office to make sure though!

i doubt it. even though the third year placement courses have an alloted amount of time you are required to work in the placement (60 hours) the fourth year thesis doesnt (you are in the lab for how ever long your research needs you to be) as such doing the thesis and the placement with the same prof is double dipping.

although if you were to do them with different profs, in different labs, then it should be allright

also note that 3ep3 and 3ex6 are non research/lab placements as such you would be working in the community or on something else. 3rp3 is a lab placement and if you want to work in a lab this is the one to take
(last year they only had 3ep3 where you could do your placement anywhere, but this year it has been split into 3ep3 = non lab placement and 3rp3 = lab placement ) (* this is what ive been told by the sci career and co-op office)

I know someone in biochem who is doing his thesis in Sept, and also doing 3EP3 (it has been approved). This was recommended to him by Michelle MacDonald in the biochem department. I believe the loophole is that technically his thesis and his 3EP3 project are two different projects, done in the same lab with the same supervisor.
