Things to buy
I'm heading to the states for 2 weeks. Any suggestions on things (mainly electronics) I could buy from there which would be significantly cheaper than they are in Canada?

I know I'm not being very specific here but maybe you could think of what you would buy from there..

Chromecast and Roku are the only things so far on my list.

You could just buy only what you need? I don't see the point in searching for something to buy if you don't have anything specific in mind. Save your money. Even if it's cheeper in the states...if you really don't need it, why spend any money on it?

Everything. Everything is cheaper there, so get lots of it.

Speaking of PCs ... is there enough room at rez to fit a full tower on the ground and 2 23" monitors on the desk comfortably? I don't know if it makes a difference since I assume all the desks are the same, but I'll be staying at Mary Keyes.

The desks do differ from one residence to another. But I think you should be fine. The Keyes rooms are a little smaller than some other buildings, but you shouldn't have a problem with the tower or monitors.
