Tiger loose in Hamilton ..?
Am I missing something? Is this a joke?

On my way home today, I saw signs at the bus stops that said "NOTICE - Do not approach wild animals" with a picture of a tiger. The poster had the website www.phsb.ca at the bottom.
If you go to the website, it says there was a tiger was photographed in downtown Hamilton within the last few days.

.. I'm guessing this is a joke or some kind of viral marketing? It seems legit but I'm sure this would have been in The Spec or something. (Also, there`s no Channel 13 News) I'm assuming it's fake, but I can't imagine someone would be able to put these posters up and make a fake website and everything.

"Channel 13 News Reporter"

There is no channel 13 (it's CTV Toronto)

Some of the images are from http://mrx.ca/, which markets CFL teams (including TiCats).

So, in short, it's a TiCat marketing thing.

Totally fake. The Hamilton Public Health and Safety board would have more information on their website than just this tiger story.

I'm highly suspicious. First of all, I don't know of any station around here called "channel 13" with a big red round logo. Anyone who knows differently, feel free to correct me.

Secondly, here's the Canada Public Health and Safety webpage - doesn't look anything like the "cut and paste" logo on the tiger page.

I thought a tiger loose in the home city of the TiCats was a little too convienent, haha.

The reason I thought it was real was because I cant imagine the City of Hamilton allowing anyone to do this. I even believed it for a little while! I think it might actually worry some people.

Bahaha! I actually fell for it and vowed to never go downtown until they found the tiger.

If you're from Hamilton, you wouldn't be suspicious. Crazy and wack shit goes on especially downtown

It just seems odd that they made a whole web-page and even a news video. I didn't watch the video until after I found out it was fake though. You can kind of tell it's fake since the reporter is smiling the ENTIRE time and the guy just looks/acts like a douchebag.

Good joke but I wouldn't doubt some people actually falling for it and getting worried. Again, downtown Hamilton = scary shit.

lol. Here we go hating on downtown again. I can't speak for Oshawa personally, but I work in downtown Hamilton. I've seen sketchy stuff, but no more sketchy than what I see in downtown Toronto, or even Kitchener.

Who is to say what's "obvious" and what's not?
I don't think they've invented Fake-o-Meters yet.

It's definitely fake.

First of all, there's no such thing as the Canada Public Health and Safety Board.

Second, the website is completely fake, as none of the links work, as a matter of fact, there are none. As well, you can't get to the Public Health and Safety Board "homepage". The page you're on actually is the "homepage".

Third, channel 13 is CTV.
