One con I found when I took French 1A06 was that the exam in April was cumulative since the content from September. So it was a big hassle to study EVERYTHING since the beginning of the school year.

If this helps, i'm going to be living on residence next year and I am going into Honours Biology.

Thanks in advance

This looks okay, similar workload to pretty much all second year Science, but I feel that your Wednesday afternoons in Term 1 are really packed and Wednesdays of term 2 are really long as well. For term 1 there's no way to move the orgo lab I guess :( And for term 2, it's much better this way than having an 8:30 lab. They'll be pretty long, however, since you're living on residence make sure to organize when you should go back to your room and when it's better to just head to the library instead of residence . Let me know if you have any more questions!

I was wondering, does anyone have the course outline for Biochem 3G03 by any chance?

I signed up for both English 3I06 - Age of Elizabeth and English 3C06 - Medieval Literature. As you can see, each class has 3 hours of lecture a week, and the classes overlap for one hour on Friday. I figure that attending 5/6 hours a week of those classes should be ok, and they're in the same building so I can go from one to the other if I see that a class is going to be non crucial. But on Solar it didn't give me the conflict indication, why?

I think it's because there is no scheduling info on SOLAR yet. It doesn't check whether your courses are conflicting at this stage. In August (around the time when timetables are released), the scheduling information will be present on SOLAR and it will notify you of conflicts.

As the comment above mentioned, conflicts don't show up until timetables are generated in August. Till then, we're only picking the list of courses.

Suppose i took 5 full year courses, which would bring my total units to 30. suppose i wanted to add one or two 3 unit courses - would i be allowed? would that be a heavy course load?

I'm not sure what program you in but 5 courses I found to be fairly heavy and I don't think its wise to take another class. Not only is it another 3 hours a week you don't have for other things but another textbook to read, exam to take and lab or essay to work on. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT take a 6th class but choose the 10 you like best!

You'd be allowed, but you would need to e-mail your faculty and ask to overload. It's not too bad, I did it last year with some pretty "heavy" courses (maths, biology, history, etc.)

Hi, it wouldn't be that much heavier, but you need to ask yourself why you want to do that. If you can't take 33 credits already, you can simply ask associate deans office and tell them you want to overload. I recommend you stick to 30 though, unless it's something you can't do without.
I overloaded last yr as well. It was doable, but just barely. I don't regret it, but life would have been easier without having to worry about that extra course.
