Timetable Conflicts
I have a conflict that I am okay with.. can I still take the classes as normal (and skip one of the classes) or will the school not allow me to?

I think you will be allowed to...but if you have tests/quizzes which conflict, you may not be able to reschedule.

But I have a question about conflicts...
I have a course which requires one large class in the beginning, and then group work for the rest. I want to take a conflicting course, but the timetable keeps saying that "Action is Required". Can I still take the course without doing anything?

Actually, some faculties don't allow conflicts unless it's necessary for you to graduate (and you're in your final year).

Usually, conflicts are fine. I had one on my schedule before and the school doesn't force you to change it or anything. I heard that some faculties don't allow it, but I'm not entirely sure. Maybe email both departments of the conflicting courses and see what they say?

You can check the times on the master timetable.

That's not the only reason the classes aren't showing up in your schedule though. Usually conflicts show up and it just says **CONFLICT** in red letters.

It may be that they haven't scheduled the courses yet, or it could be a glitch in the system. When SOLAR opens up you can see if they've given you a section.

Zebedee says thanks to starfish for this post.

Yea they changed the timetable around since the registration date and there are conflicts now. Sometimes conflicts are ok but there is potential to miss in class assignments or conflict with exam times.

Anyone's timetable resolved itself as yet?
I still can't see which core/tutorial SOLAR assigned me for the conflicting courses...:.S

When you thought SOLAR couldn't get any worse, it pulls this shit. I am missing courses on my timetable as well and it is due to conflict. However, I have had conflicts in the past but both courses would be on the schedule. I'm going into my final year and this has honestly been the worst year for choosing classes even though I don't need many to graduate. Get your shit together McMaster

Check your timetable right now by logging into mugsi and click "My timetable" it will tell you whether your current schedule has conflicts (and removed from visibility on your timetable because conflict"
