Timetables Are Down

Timetables Are Temporarily Down

BY MITCH WRIGHT, MACINSIDERS

Hi everyone! A lot of you have been asking why the internet browser is giving you an error when you try to see your undergraduate personal timetable. As of right now, the timetable application is down. This is most likely due to the fact that the Registrar is getting ready to re-open SOLAR tomorrow. I hope everyone is ready with any changes they may want to make to their schedule! The best time slots for classes, lectures and tutorials fill up fast!

Undergraduate personal timetables should be up and running soon, so don't freak out that you can't see it. If you didn't copy down your timetable yet and you remember what courses you chose, go to the Master Timetable here and look for your courses. Remember you can switch into any tutorials, labs, or core classes that are available on SOLAR when it re-opens. If you need any additional information on choosing course times, search the latest posts about it on the forum.

I hope everyone has a fun and exciting SOLAR re-opening!

Just a reminder:

SOLAR will close Tuesday, July 29th at 10:30 p.m. through to Monday, August 11th at 8:00 a.m. for Undergraduate students. During this time students may still access and update their Payment Agreement through MUGSI/My Student Accounts & Cashiers/Payment Agreement.

Personal Timetables will be available on MUGSI as of Thursday, August 7th after 8:30 a.m.

That's the email I got, soo...

As citfat posted, it will open for you at 8:00 am

But I suggest you get ready before 8 because the server is going to go nuts again and I wouldn't be surprised if it goes down. This time you have ALL the undergrads going at it at once.

Everything remotely electronic-based that Mac controls usually has a cap or timelimit and goes down when hit with peak load. Just thought I'd throw that out there for the first years that think this is a one time thing lol.

I'm not looking forward to refreshing MUGSI a million times and knowing that it's going to be 10x worse isn't too exciting. :(

Welcome to registration at Mac. Sam said it all. It's not the best, but it's gotten better in recent years. Your timetable, payment agreement, marks and SOLAR used to all be on one server which meant that people trying to change courses between semesters had to fight with people trying to see their marks who were fighting with people trying to change around their timetable for the next semester.

So yes, this is unfortunate, but it could be worse lol.

Aw, it shouldn't be that bad tomorrow Kokosas! There won't be as many people on MUGSI and SOLAR compared to when you first registered for courses in June (July?). I even wouldn't be surprised if you didn't have to refresh at all!

just a quick question,
if you have a conflict with your time table, and only have 4 courses in term one, but need 1 more.. and the course that fits is all full.. if you call the department, would they open a seat for you? *-)...

Is the course that fits involved in the conflict but just different class times? If so, then they would definetly help you switch into another class time if it's full. However, if the one that fits is a totally new course, it might be harder to get into that one if it's full, because they might tell you just to take something else.

Check to see if it opens at 12am, if not, then it will sometime around 8 am.

No way! Instead of it being restricted to year and faculty now everyone can have a free-for-all! It's going to be MADNESS!

*Cue 300 joke*

i just tried logging onto MUGSI, and it said that the maximum amount of people are already logged on...does that mean the dreaded SOLAR chaos has begun?
