Torrents
I'm looking for some good sites to download torrents, namely looking to download all Iron Maiden, Rush, Metallica albums because I lost all of my music on my last computer.

Or if you have any other suggestions for downloading files, primarily music, feel free to add them in (I'm willing to go to websites to pay for some of my music but I can't afford to purchase everything I lost so that's why I'm resorting to torrents).

The Pirate Bay and Demonoid are the first ones that jump at me. Torrentz.com is a pretty good way to find a torrent across many sites.

torrentz.com is a good one. Its more of a directory. You search for what you want, and it lists links to that torrent from a variety of sites. torrenreactor, isohunt, pirate bay.

Same. I only torrent music if I want like a whole album or something.

I used to use demonoid, but it became shit when too many people got a hold of invites, throwing the seeder to leecher ratio way off.

I use different private trackers now :p.

I got a good Metallica discography off Piratebay a while back. If I recall correctly, it had something like 4378 seeders, so it should still be pretty active. I've got a few Rush albums from there too, though I'm not much of a fan. And Iron Maiden just sucks, dont do it. Get some G'N'R instead ;D

I use mediafire for albums. You just search "band name, album, mediafire." They have most albums and it's really convenient.

Or even just "band name, album, blogspot". That tends to succeed more often than Mediafire/MegaUpload/etc. And, best of all, it may just lead you to more music than you originally anticipated!

I take it that you haven't heard about the new copyright laws in Canada?

There has been a big lawsuit filed against 5,000 people who downloaded the movie Hurt Locker.

There are many more to come with both movie and music companies going after
P2P users by requesting ISP's to release IP addresses and their respective "crimes".

My advice? Stop. Right now.

That only happened because the director got pissed off that nobody bought the movie (probably because nobody saw it in theaters, and when it generated interest, it was out of theaters and not yet available on DVD).

As long as you use private trackers, you should be fine.

I downloaded it and didn't get caught. lol I use PeerBlock though, I know it's not 100% full security but it's been doing me good so far.
