Searches blogs for music. I use it if I don't feel like torrenting an album; if you need some demonoid invites, just pm.

people... still use limewire?
I sense massive fail in this thread. Stick to Pirate bay and get a decent enough application (such as utorrent). If you're looking for specific songs, you can just checkmark which files within the batched torrent file - in this case, each track probably - and download away. Also, if you're going to be searching bands specifically, you can get their discographies pretty easy so why not?
Piratebay pretty much

Still better than Limewire, which is probably one of the most disgusting P2P clients around. And who's fretting over public trackers in Canada? Shameful ; )
And I could suggest newsgroups/Usenet, but most people wouldn't even bother trying.

I believe Kazaa (if it still exists) is over 9000 times worse.

I tried that once after someone told me TekSavvy has free usenet. Couldn't get it working. I don't think TekSavvy actually does have free usenet :(.

Yes, and it's full of viruses. Hence why I said limewire is "one of" the worst . Also, P2P clients are notorious for being easier to get viruses with because of the way files are transferred.

Seeds are painful, but for music, it's essentially never a problem unless you get the most obscure bands - of which, I guarantee limewire would be no better.

Sadly, a lot of companies are getting rid of that feature because of the massive amounts of bandwidth hogging that occur from it. I've had friends who'd download tb's a month of dvds/music/games etc. Eventually, their ISP's pulled the plug or capped them. Newgroups are supposed to be used in an entirely different manner, but it just happens file transfers are that much better.
Alternatively, you can pay for a Usenet service - usually, you have access to ancient downloads and increased download speeds (not sure if it's accelerated or cap removed). And considering the nature of downloading, you never have to worry about peers and whatnot like in Torrents/P2P. Back before, when Mountain Cable still existed, I'd never download something at a speed of less then 600+kb/s. Full length Dvds (not ripped) in a matter of 2 hours (maybe even less iirc). Beautiful it was.

@reeves - Haha, don't even go there! Iron Maiden is legendary. Guns 'n' Roses is next on my list, though
While the convenience of downloading single tracks is preferable with Limewire, I'd rather not risk it with the amount of viruses I contracted the last time I had it. I'd prefer to download single tracks legally (through iTunes or a similar site) but stick to torrents for larger files and whole albums.
And thanks a lot for the suggestions everyone! I'll be giving Piratebay a try soon.

I love my What.CD account for obscure music. Makes me a happy panda.
As for another P2P client, I've never used it but I hear Soulseek is supposed to be pretty good.

It's only good if the residence students know how to use it. Last year really sucked.

Protip: A song is typically larger than 65 KB and doesn't have text strings such as "XXX orgy teen boobz lolwtfbbq" appended to it's name.
