Just make sure engineering is really what you want to do. Rather than it being the "safe" career. I would say stick to life sciences for now and transfer in second year if you think it's still something you'd like to do. Good luck!

Come to may at mac, you'll get a better idea of what you want to really do. Lots of eng projects going to be shown there from what I see.

On the subject of contacting advisors etc. at Mac; don't bother with email. All the departments get swamped with a million emails from incoming High School students and can take months to reply. If at all possible set up an appointment to actually go to Mac and see them, or go to the drop in hours. If you can't, at least try and speak to someone over the phone.

I haven't actually read most of this thread, so I'm sure it's been suggested, but if I were you I would go and make your case for admittance directly to Engineering, you really don't want to waste a year messing around with transfer credits, and there are a lot of unique experiences you'd miss out on if you skipped first year engineering.

particle likes this.

I hate to be that guy, but 86% might not get you into life sci as the cut off last year was ~88% and it most likely went up. I would certainly say trying to transfer now if you can is the best option by far!
Also what Patrick.O said. Listen to him.

By the context of the post it sounds like this person has already gotten into life sci, no?

Anyway, good luck EngHopeful! Engineering is pretty damn awesome but that's just my bias opinion :p
