Transferring into another program with CA of less than 3.5?
Hey guys. Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer from one program to lets say Humanities or Soc Sci with a CA of less than 3.5 but above a 3.0? I'm getting kicked out of my program(haven't been doing well) and was thinking of transferring into something else. I've been talking to an advisor from both facs, but they don't give me a direct answer when I ask them about the CA issue. I have a flight on Monday so I was hoping if someone could let me know whether they've been in the same situation before or know of it. I have a CA of less than 3.5 but above 3.0, and it says in the undergrad calender that I need a 3.5 to transfer into Soc Sci or Humanities, but if I have above a 3.0 I can stay in the university, so how would that work? Thanks

I would just reapply using your highschool marks to either program

You're not allowed to do that. Once you took university courses, you can't pretend you didn't...they can kick you out for that alone.

Also, my understanding is that between 3-3.5 you're kind of in no program, on probation while you try to bring up your grades.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to enrol in a general Soc Sci/Humanities degree for a one-term review period, until you get your CA above 3.5, when you can apply to programs once again.

From the undergrad calendar regarding first year, but I'm pretty sure it's the same in upper years:

At any review during Level I before you complete the Level I work, as in the case of a part-time student, you must attain a CA of at least 3.5 to continue at the University in good standing. If you attain a CA of 3.0 to 3.4 you may remain at the University for one reviewing period, but will be placed on academic probation. You may be on academic probation only once during your University career. If your CA is less than 3.0 you may not continue at the University.

At the review when you complete the Level I work, if you attain a CA of at least 3.0 and have not previously been on academic probation, but fail to meet the admission requirements of any program, you may continue at the University for one additional reviewing period on academic probation. You will be registered in your original Faculty, and will be classified as a Level I irregular student if your work may only qualify you to be considered for admission to a program in another Faculty. If, at the end of the next reviewing period, you again do not qualify for admission to a program, you may not continue at the University. If your CA is less than 3.0 you may not continue at the University.
