In 12 years of bar hopping, I've actually found that 2 pieces of ID is a pretty common request. This isn't a new, or even a local thing. I've been asked for 2 IDs in Toronto, Peterborough, Barrie, Windsor, Oshawa, Orillia, Detroit, Buffalo and St. Louis. So the thought of asking for 2 IDs where approximately 20% of the clientele is under the legal age seems completely reasonable, compared to the potential fines and legal repercussions of being caught serving a minor.
