Upper Year Exams?
Hi,
I was just wondering if the upper-year midterms and tests are scheduled differently from first-year (i.e. during class time or during the day rather than evenings (usually Friday evenings...)...since there are less people writing them...
Thanks!

Heres the ece term 1 midterm schedule: http://www.ece.mcmaster.ca/docs/midt...Midte rms.pdf

You may be in a different faculty but it'll give you an idea how it looks.. I've had midterms at 6:30pm, 8pm, 12:30pm (in-class), and even morning exams. I don't think I've ever had a midterm on a saturday/sunday, although commerece people have them then occassionally..

Test timing often depends on the size of the course. If the course has only one core, tests are usually written during class time.

Yes, that's how it usually is, but with the exception of large classes as you already know.

(i.e. Organic Chemistry is still on Friday night, while my Biochem courses and Chem Bio 2P03 midterms are in-class time, but sometimes in more than one location.)

What faculty are you in? For science, most midterms were during class time. I think the only exception was an Orgo midterm at 7 pm.

For me this semester: Anatomy and Epidemiology were in class, Orgo was outside of class.

It depends on how long the prof wants to make the midterm or how difficult the material is. Like my second year Calculus class (Math 2xx3) had our exams at night, but every other class I have has been during class time.
