Used Bikes from MACycle Co-Op
Does anyone know what kind of selection the MACycle Co-Op has for used bikes? Also what kind of condition are the bikes in? I'm looking to pick up a basic bike for riding around my neighbourhood for under $100.00.

The library has a lost and found sale (I'm not sure if Mac cycle does the bike sales) where they sell off textbooks and bikes. You can get an old bicycle for like 2-10 dollars. Honestly bring an older bike to campus, you don't want to get it stolen.

RSA4life says thanks to Leeoku for this post.

THIS. Don't bring a valuable bike. I had one locked up at our house on Sterling right infront of our house entrance. I went away for a bit and came back to find out that they stole wheels and my handle bars and front suspension. They came prepared with tools.

Ya, I definitely don't need a nice bike, just a basic one. I also will not be using this bike on campus, it is mainly for me to use around my neighbourhood.

Their selection and quality varies as their stock is limited solely to what they get in donations. Their parts are dirt cheap, they make 0 profit off selling anything to you. The parts are mostly used except for chains, tubes, brake lines and stuff like that.

You will invariably find a decent bike at dirt cheap there, and maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have a gem you can snatch up. I know they have at least 1 big sale per year, I think in September?

More likely than not the bike you do purchase may need a little work on it before they sell it to you, which they encourage to do yourself with their help and guidance.

One allen key, a wrench and wire cutters.

You need a wrench to take detach the the fork from the frame and they also cut all the brake lines, gear lines.
