Used iclickers
Hello!

Can someone comment on whether buying a used iclicker from upper year students is such a good idea, or should I get a new one from titles. I figured it should be ok as long as I have the barcode since titles also sells used iclickers.

Any help is much appreciated.

yes buying it from upper years should be okay. all you need is the barcode and class registration. But be careful some people sell their iclickers with no batteries so make sure to test it out beforehand or buy a new pair of batteried

I have never used an iclicker before, so how do I test it? Would it be good enough if I can simply turn it on?

Turning it on is fine, you just need to make sure the light comes on. Its not really a big deal if the batteries are dead, I think it takes 4 AAA and if you buy some it should last you the whole year.

Please buy a used one. The new ones are ridiculously overpriced. As long as you can press it and the lights go on PLUS the barcode serial is visible then buy a used.

The barcode is also printed on the inside of the battery cover.
Or you can have a prof tell you the barcode using their magic iclicker box

Used i>clickers are great just as long as the cost of the clicker plus new batteries together equal less than a new one.

Clickers use 3 AAA batteries. DO NOT use Duracell batteries as they are shorter than other batteries and don't work. A fresh set of batteries should last around 200hrs.

For the scoop on sharing clickers, how to register a clicker & what to do if the ID rubs off see the Bookstore's i>clicker FAQ pages.
