Volunteers Needed for Microbiology Lab
The Schellhorn lab is looking for two volunteers for the upcoming school year!

The duties will consist mainly of washing glassware, preparing solutions, media, replenishing supplies, and general lab maintenance. You must be able to volunteer from 4-6 hours per week (within the hours of 9-5, M-F), depending on how much assistance is needed in the lab. Volunteering would start as soon as possible and would last until the end of March. An orientation will be provided and you will be required to take several safety training courses before your start date.

If you are interested, please send an email to [email protected] with the subject line reading: Lab Volunteer App

Please include your resume, few sentences about why you would like to volunteer at this lab, and your year/program at McMaster. Deadline for submissions is Sunday, September 2nd, 2012.

More information about the lab can be found here.

Thanks!!

Volunteering at a lab is one of the best ways to get your foot in the door and then either:
a) get a paid position at the lab
b) ensure you have a supervisor for a thesis you may wish to do

I would highly recommend this to anyone even moderately interested.

Hey guys, sorry for the super late update but unfortunately the positions have been filled. However, many labs across campus welcome volunteers and I really encourage you guys to check the department websites and contact professors who are doing research related to your interests. Also, don't hesitate to PM me if you need advice on how to approach professors for volunteer or employment opportunities Good luck!!!
