Oh bummer - that must mean that there were 45 girls ahead of my son and a room for a guy must have come available. Oh well, I gotta think you're going to get in if you're #4. Have you checked your emails cause the portal says he's #45 but the offer came via email. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I am 156 right now (dropped from 283). I was previously guaranteed a single room but didn't accept it. My parents didn't want me staying on res. They finally changed their mind last minute and I applied to the wait list on July 14th (25 days ago). I don't think i will get in this year, but, I really want to !
What chances do I have ?

From what I've heard, usually the original top 100 on the list get into res, and beyond that no one can really tell. I would look into alternatives, such as renting a house/apartment in the area or figuring out commuting. You still have a chance, especially because as time goes by many people on the wait list will have found other arrangements (so when they're offered a spot they will reject it), but it's definitely not a sure thing.

I know. I understand that I should start looking off campus and in fact i HAVE ... but i don't want to give up on on campus.. Its still my #1 option. I am from Mississauga and the commute is approximately ~2 hrs.
Moreover, my sem 2 is more intense than sem 1. So i MIGHT be able to manage my 1st sem commuting while I wait for on campus res.

Hey, Question..
It says on the offer to residence (I was an upper year transfer wait lister!) that the room assignment will be given to you after you have done the deposit! What room am I most likely to get? I really want to know; is there any way of determining it? So, I can figure out how much I will be paying..
Also, if anyone know's how residence/meal plan stuff is done in accordance with the OSAP option being checked on the payment agreement? I know how OSAP is doing that- But If I wanted to pay for my meal plan through my own money, is that possible? Or vice versa with residence? How does it all work?
Thank You,
x

Isn't the deposit just a flat rate for everyone? Like, it doesn't matter what room type you have, the deposit will be the same. Your room type entirely depends on who drops out of res and what types of rooms they had, so there isn't really a reliable/meaningful way of predicting. Like, you could say that single rooms are less likely, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.
I'm not 100% sure how OSAP works, but if you look at the payment agreement, all of your fees (res, meal plan, tuition, supplementary) are all added together and that's your total amount, and then you can elect to use OSAP (along with any other scholarships) to pay for part of that total...So, I don't think there's any way to direct it to a specific part of those fees, but I could be wrong.

Where in Mississauga are you from? A 2hr commute is hard to believe, the GO bus takes anywhere from 30-50mins (depending if you catch the express). If you meant to say its 2hrs there and back thats a bit more accurate.

Tanyamac - if you haven't got in yet, I think I would be calling the residence office.
If you go back in the thread, my son was sitting at 54 and meena101 was at 48 when you were at #5. It appears that both my son and Meena101 have received residence offers yet you haven't??? Seems a little odd to me - I would be double checking to make sure you didn't miss an email or something.

Feildgate and Bloor. its near glenforest school . It takes 40 mins by the stupid transit to reach square one , and then another 45 - 50 min by the GO bus ( non express; the express ones are usually jam packed).
I said roughly 2 hrs , not exactly. I cant afford to waste that much time commuting

That's really strange. Did you confirm which email they have? You might want to check your mac email just to make sure you don't miss anything. Hope it works out for you!!!
