Yup, thats what the student advisor said! I'm probably going to trust that too, giving the amount of people she would talk to (I didn't get in to talk until 4:15! and i started at 1...) and tell that to, and how, you obviously need to know your stuff if you're going to do that!
Basically - we only have until that 7 day range to formally pick. However, SOLAR will open up again for everyone @ Mac on the 14th. At that day everyone has the freedom to drop, add and change their courses as they wish!! C=
And she said that between July 14th and July 29th when SOLAR officially closes, you have all that time to change and switch if you change your mind.
No worries!! ^-^ I was soooo worried myself - I thought I was screwed since I didn't get into 1A03. This news even saved me!! :3

This has got to be one of the most stressful systems I've ever had to deal with. Whoever designed it deserves a swift kick in the nuts, and a dropkick in the eyebrow.
...btw, are second language courses withheld? I didn't even know you could major in them...

I think you can only Major in French. All of the other languages can only be minored in now, from what I understand.

Well, if you can only major in French, it doesn't make sense why all the other language courses would be withheld for other faculties...
You think they'd have more beginner classes (1Z06) than anything else considering that most high schools don't offer German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese .etc. If no first years are able to get space in them, and fourth years for example are taking them, then that means that nobody ends up taking anything beyond beginner for each one, leaving a whole bunch of empty intermediate classes.
Gahh... I just want to get this over with... I don't feel like waiting around for the courses to open to everybody on the 14th.

Just wondering what exactly happens on July 14th when SOLAR re-opens. Will it be a midnight again? Is it done by faculty? Will it be hard to get back into the system? Can someone let me know please. Thanks so much for all your help!!!

It should be open at midnite, and it'll be a free-for-all: all years, all faculties, all at once.
