Wifi problems on iTouch
So I just bought this ipod 4g 64gb from someone, it was brand new. Everything was perfect for about a day and now my wifi doesn't work at home.

I tried to reset network settings, and even did a hard reset, but nothing seems to work. It says I'm connected to wifi on everything except the home page (but doesn't connect to internet/etc).

Not sure if this is related but I jailbroke it at jailbreakme.com at first. After the hard reset I couldn't download anything anymore so needless to say it's not jailbroken right now LOL.

I read online that since I have a 169 IP that my itouch has been assigned a null IP and to renew the lease on it... Tried that, didn't do much. I also tried to input information using Static instead of DHCP but it doesn't stay on the Static tab... :s

Help me out here?

I have the 2nd gen iPod Touch 8GB model, and I use it each day and the battery life is much better than only 1 hour. =/

Omg that sounds terrible... the only thing I can think of would be to reset it again and hope it fixes itself LOL but since the reset thing is what made your ipod like that... @[email protected];;; I don't know.

I tried that, and this is what happened... On the DHCP tab I can't type in the IP manually, I can do the DNS stuff though... only the last three lines can be changed, and I did (except for the Client ID- I don't know what to use). On the static tab I tried typing in my IP manually but it reverts back to the DHCP tab right after I finish...?

---

Forgot to mention that the wifi is still fine at school, so I think it's my router's problem... but my computer's internet still works perfectly. :s

I also read somewhere that I need to enter my iPod's MAC code or something on my router to register it if there's that extra security thing on LOL but I have no idea how to do that and I don't even know if the landlord set that extra security up because as far as I know we only needed to enter the password to get internet on my laptop. /uber confused

*edit*

o___o wow so... after one day, it's fixed itself...
*a little speechless*

I hope it doesn't happen again LOL

Smartphone > iPod, it's obvious.

Restore to iOS 4.3 and take it to Apple, they will most likely replace it.

Make sure you tell them to give you a new one, since it is less than a month old

The OP doesn't have a new iPod Touch (it's secondhand).
