Wireless Connection Problems With ROGERS?
I've been getting a lot of connectivitiy/reception problems with rogers for teh last week or two. A lot of my text messages arent getting sent, and sometimes my calls wont go through. Is this happening to anyone else?

YES. It is sooo frustrating, pretty much every other call I try to make does not go through. Even my BBM has been acting up every time I come to campus. I was here all summer working and never experienced any problems, so I think it's just the surge of people tying up the network since last week. Hopefully this problem doesn't persist :/

WIND is overall good but sitting in the same area through different times of the day my reception is different. For example, in the Mills library in one spot I'll be getting between 0-1 bars before 7 p.m. and after 7 p.m. it jumps up and stays in between 1-2 bars. Overall, WIND is really good for a company not even 2 years into the business but it is spotty in some places in campus (just like in places in and around Hamilton ).

yeah this happened last year as well. It's due to everyone using data heavy applications, the problem goes away if you disable 3G and only use 2G/Edge

Oh I see, well I have data usage disabled, but I cannot only use 2G/Edge as WIND only operates a 3G network afaik. O_O

The problem is just with the bigger carriers ie Rogers and Fido (same towers I believe). But yeah network dependent you can tell your phone to only use 2G, which I have, and everything works fine

I think the main difference is that 2G eats up less battery compared to being on 3G all the time but 3G has much much faster data speeds compared to 2G. So, if you do have data, when you need to use it go 3G, when you don't, stay on 2G.

I have Rogers and have absolutely no problems unless I'm in the basements of TSH/KTH/CNH etc. or any basement at that.

I just turned this off on the iPhone using this, hopefully it helps -__-
As for blackberry, I don't have one but a quick google search tells me:
Go to menu, manage connections, mobile network options, network mode, change to 2G
