Where are you living after graduation? How to find housemates?
This spring I'll be graduating but I want to take part-time classes at Mac for 1 more year. I was thinking of living in Mississauga so I can work there and commute to Mac once or twice a week.

I would feel safer moving into a female student house with random people than moving into a random apartment in Mississauga, but living in Hamilton isn't worth it if I work in Mississauga and Brampton (2 part-time jobs).

But I don't know where to start looking or who to live with.

Nobody I know is really looking for the same thing as I am so I don't know where to start trying to find housemates. I don't want to move back home, but I would hate to live alone in some apartment. I've always had housemates and would like the same thing after graduation. Or even a shared apartment.

I should mention that I'm looking for a temporary living situation, from April or September 2015 - August 2016, because I'm hoping to apply to grad school.

So my question is, for those who have graduated (or know somebody in this situation) how did you find housemates and a place to live??? Or did you??

I a bit lost atm so any information/opinions is/are appreciated!

You have several options:
1) Find a student house/apt in Hamilton with random people (or friends, if you have any) - and you already mentioned this is not a preferred option
2) Live by yourself - which you also mentioned you do not prefer, but it is probably the simplest option
3) Find a friend or friend-of-a-friend who is also looking for a place in the same area
4) Post ads (on McMaster sites or kijiji or something) looking for a roommate
5) Look for people renting out an extra bedroom in houses/apts in Mississauga
6) Move back home (again, not your preferred option)

Personally, I went with option #2 - live by yourself - and I got a pet. It was so much easier, though there was a friend-of-a-friend who was potentially looking for something similar in the same area, it was just too complicated to coordinate, but if you really don't want to live by yourself, options 3-5 are decent also. You're probably going to have to make a compromise somewhere (e.g. if you don't want to live alone, you might have to live with random people or vice versa).
